The HHMI Freeman Hrabowski Scholars Program supports outstanding early career tenured and tenure-track faculty researchers, including physician-scientists, who show exceptional promise as leaders in their fields. Scholars become HHMI employees while maintaining academic appointments and labs at their host institutions, and receive up to ten years of support contingent on a successful midpoint evaluation.
During their term(s), Scholars receive full salary and benefits, a generous research budget, tailored professional development, and are eligible to participate in the HHMI capital equipment program, which provides regular opportunities to obtain equipment and instruments that advance the Scholar’s research program. They additionally have access to cutting-edge imaging and other scientific resources at our Janelia Research Campus, and join HHMI’s thriving community of scientists across career stages through events such as HHMI Science Meetings and retreats.
