Cancer Biology (CB)

Program Co-leaders
Program Goal

To reduce morbidity and mortality of cancer based on fundamental understanding of cancer biology.

Program Aims
  • AIM 1: Identify and validate targets that mediate innate and acquired resistance to anticancer therapies.
To improve the understanding of how cancers resist targeted therapies or develop resistance during recurrence.
  • AIM 2: Target mechanisms that are deregulated in cancer and promote metastasis.
To define and therapeutically target mechanisms including cell signaling pathways necessary for cancer spread and recurrence.
  • AIM 3: Develop strategies to improve diagnosis, inform treatment, and evaluate treatment response.
To develop and apply new technologies to advance cancer detection and evaluate tumor response for precision medicine.
