  • Science Training for Advancing Biomedical Research (STAR-PREP) Postbaccalaureate Program is an NIGMS-funded program designed to provide research training to bachelor degree graduates to increase their competitiveness for rigorous PhD and MD-PhD programs. This highly competitive program provides matriculants with individualized mentoring with a dedicated and self-selected mentor and team, and immersion in graduate levels courses and didactic and training experiences. 

     

  • UMB Accelerating Momentum for Professionals in Life Sciences (AMPLIFY) program is a 2-year mentored research training program designed to encourage and prepare recent baccalaureate graduates coming from low-resourced groups in the biomedical sciences for successful entry into a top-notch graduate programs and cancer research careers. The program is intended for students who are interested in obtaining additional skills to prepare them for entry into a graduate programs and research careers.

    The overarching goal is to build a stronger cancer research workforce, ensuring a myriad of perspectives contribute to advancements in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Our program is designed to align with broader initiatives to address disparities in health outcomes and representation in scientific leadership.
