Ruth Travis, DMin
Mrs. Ruth Travis, DMin, Senior Cancer Health Ambassador.  Mrs Ruth is a breast cancer survivor whose journey began with her diagnosis in 2007. Her experience inspired her to become a Cancer Health Ambassador and dedicate her work to supporting individuals and communities affected by cancer. As a Senior Cancer Health Ambassador, Ruth engages communities through health fairs, churches, and local organizations. She shares her personal story, leads educational workshops, and distributes resources that empower individuals to take charge of their health, support one another, and reduce stigma surrounding cancer. Ruth is passionate about turning her experience into action and believes that education, advocacy, and community partnerships are key to improving cancer outcomes. “I chose this path because I believe in the power of awareness and education… Cancer is not just a medical condition-it’s social, emotional, and an economic burden.”
Kaisha Snowden
Kaisha Snowden is a program assistant for the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement. She is currently pursuing her B.A. in Dance and B.S. in Public Health Practice at the University of Maryland, College Park. Kaisha is extremely passionate about working with minority communities and contributing to the advancement of their knowledge and the sustainment of their health. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Kaisha plans to pursue a Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics to delve deeper into the field of research.
Asli McCullers, MPH
Asli McCullers, MPH is a current PhD student in the Behavioral and Community Health Department at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a Graduate Research Assistant supporting the CHAMP Lab (including the CHAMP Ambassadors program) and community engagement for the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. Through an integrated health equity lens, her research interests are at the nexus of reproductive and maternal health, adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer education and survivorship, and digital wellness. Additionally, Asli is a Research Specialist at the MedStar Health Center for Health Equity Research. Previously, she received her MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Delaware, her post-baccalaureate from University of Massachusetts Medical School in Clinical and Population Health, and her BS in Biology and Music Performance from Towson University.
