An internationally recognized expert in Bayesian adaptive clinical trial designs, he developed the FDA-recognized BOIN dose-finding design. Dr. Yuan is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the lead author of two books on Bayesian clinical trial and dose-optimization designs. His seminar is entitled “Statistical Designs and Considerations for Dose Optimization.” Dr. Ying Yuan will discuss statistical strategies for identifying an optimal biological dose that balances safety and effectiveness, reflecting the FDA’s Project Optimus initiative. He will review efficacy-integrated and two-stage approaches, compare model-based and model-assisted designs, and demonstrate their practical application through real-world examples and available software.
